County Councilman Julian Rogers has announced that he will be resigning his County Council seat at the end of Janurary 2014. In accordance with the County Charter and state law, the Democratic Party of Cuyahoga County's Central Committee members of District 10 will appoint an interim Councilmember to serve until a successor is chosen at the next general election (November 2014).
The Central Committee members will meet to appoint the week of January 27, 2014. Further details on this meeting--including time, date, location, and voting process--will be posted as available.
An informational meeting for candidates interested in the appointment will be held the week of December 16, 2013 at Party Headquarters. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org with the subject line "CCD10 candidate" to receive notification and further details regarding this informational meeting.
Democratic candidates who would like to be considered for appointment must:
- Complete the Democratic Party's questionnaire and return it electronically to email@example.com by no later than January 15, 2014.
- Meet all residency and other qualifications to serve as County Council member
- Agree to run to retain the appointment in the 2014 cycle, and...
- Actively campaign for the appointment, including contacting Central Committee members
