Sanctions Portal Information

CCDP’s brand new Sanctions Committee was established to examine violations of our Party Unity rule and our newly created Code of Conduct. We view this Code of conduct as an important step to ensure our members, candidates, and voters at large, have faith in the ethical standards of the Cuyahoga County Democratic Party and its operations. Please consult Article 7 of our bylaws to learn about the framework for this new code.

In most cases, as our Bylaws state, the Chair will initially determine if an informal resolution can be achieved, before turning matters over to the Sanctions Committee. This means complaints will typically go directly to the Chair through this portal. If the complaint deals directly with the Chair, you may submit it to one of the other members on the portal.

This is not retroactive so only incidents that have occurred since August of 2024 can be addressed under the Code of Conduct. At some point, any person accused of inappropriate conduct will be notified of who their accuser is and have a chance to defend themselves to the Chair or the Sanctions Committee as a whole. I promise you retribution will not be tolerated and any form of that will also be reviewable by the Sanctions committee.
